Q: How do I get started?

A: Schedule a free consultation call with a Training Program Specialist. We will learn what is going on, answer your questions, and recommend the appropriate program.

Q: Which training program is right for me?

A: It depends on your dog, your schedule, and how involved you want to be. Some owners want to learn hands on, some want structured training during the day, and some want a foundation built first. We help you choose the right place to start during your consultation.

Q: Do you train the dog or the owner?

A: Both. We train the dog and coach the owner so the training holds up at home, on walks, and in public.

Q: Where are you located?

A: We are located 2724 N Route 9 in Ocean View, New Jersey. The most direct way to get to us from the Garden State Parkway is using Exit 17 southbound and Exit 20 northbound. We are about a one minute drive from either exit. We are a short distance from Lower Township, Middle Township, Upper Township, Dennis Township, Somers Point, Ocean City, Avalon, Stone Harbor, Sea Isle City, Cape May, Wildwood, North Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, and Linwood.

Q: What areas do you serve?

A: We serve Cape May County and surrounding areas, including Lower Township, Middle Township, Upper Township, Dennis Township, Somers Point, Ocean City, Avalon, Stone Harbor, Sea Isle City, Cape May, Wildwood, North Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, and Linwood.

Q: What are your hours?

A: Our training center operates Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Visits and consultations are by appointment.

Methods and Philosophy

Q: What type of training do you offer?

A: We offer Positive Balanced Dog Training™. We teach behaviors with clear communication and reinforcement, then build reliability through structure, consistency, and fair follow through so it holds up in real life.

Q: What is Positive Balanced Dog Training™?

A: Positive means we teach first and reward correct choices so learning is clear. Balanced means we add guidance and accountability once the dog understands the expectation, so listening holds up around distractions.

Q: What makes your training different?

A: We focus on clear communication, structure, and consistency that holds up in real life. We do not sell quick fixes. We build training that owners can apply at home, on walks, and in public.

Q: Will my dog listen outside of training?

A: That is the point. We build training through structure, repetition, and owner coaching so it carries over into real world situations, not just during lessons.

Q: What is the S.G.R. Method™?

A: S.G.R. stands for Signal, Guide, Reward. Signal is the cue. Guide is calm help that shows the dog how to succeed. Reward reinforces the correct choice so the behavior becomes a habit.

Q: What is the L.E.A.D. System?

A: L.E.A.D. stands for Learn, Expect, Apply, Deepen. It is the roadmap we use to take skills from teaching to real world reliability, and it keeps the owner clear on what to do at home.

Q: Do you use treats?

A: Yes, we use rewards. Treats are one reward option, especially early on when we are teaching a new skill. As the dog understands the work, we expand rewards to include praise, play, permission to explore, freedom off pressure, and real life rewards like getting to go out the door, greet someone, or continue the walk. The goal is a dog that listens because the communication is clear, not because they see food.

Q: Do you use e collars?

A: Yes, when appropriate and when we recommend it. Like any equipment we use, we teach you how to introduce it correctly, what it means to the dog, and how to use it fairly inside a structured program. An e collar is a communication tool, not a shortcut and not a punishment button. The collar helps us deliver a clear signal, then we guide the dog into the right choice, then we reward the right choice.

Programs and Fit

Q: What programs do you offer?

A: We offer structured training programs designed for real world carryover. The right fit depends on your dog, your home, and your schedule. We will recommend the best program during your consultation.

Q: What is the difference between Train and Coach, Day Camp, and Board and Train?

A: Train and Coach is for owners who want to learn how to train and handle their dog directly. Day Camp is drop off training during the day with coaching at pickup. Board and Train is immersion training where we build the foundation first, then show you how to apply it at home.

Q: What if I am not sure how involved I want to be?

A: That is common. Some owners want to be hands on from the start, while others want more of the training built first. We help you choose the right fit based on your dog, your schedule, and what you are looking for.

Q: What behaviors can you help with?

A: We help with common issues like leash pulling, jumping, barking, reactivity, over excitement, impulse control, and confidence building. During your consultation, we will recommend the best starting point.

Q: How long does training take?

A: It depends on your dog and the program you choose. Some dogs need a jump start, others need more repetition and coaching. We will recommend the right fit during your consultation.

Q: How much does training cost?

A: Pricing depends on your dog and the level of training support you need. We’ll walk you through the options and recommend the right fit during your free consultation.

Q: Why do you not list prices online?

A: Because training is not one size fits all. A short consultation lets us recommend the right program and give accurate pricing for your situation.

Q: Can I visit before enrolling?

A: Yes. We offer on site evaluations so you can meet the team and see the training center before you enroll.

Q: Do you guarantee results? What can you promise?

A: We do not guarantee outcomes because every dog and every household is different. What we can promise is a clear training system, structured work, and owner coaching designed for real world carryover. You will practice handling and timing with a trainer coaching you, so the work transfers from our training day to your home.

Busy Schedule and Support

Q: What if I work during the day or have a busy schedule?

A: That is exactly why we offer different program options. Some owners choose Day Camp so their dog can train during the day, while others choose Board and Train to build a stronger foundation first.

Q: What if I do not have time to train my dog myself?

A: We have options for owners who want to be hands on with training and options for owners with busy schedules. Some families want coaching and practice time in every step. Others want structured training during the day while they are at work or school, with guided practice and clear instructions for what to do at home. No matter the path, your dog’s day is built around structure, learning, enrichment, and controlled socialization so the behavior carries over into real life.

Q: What should I expect as an owner?

A: You will be coached on handling, timing, and follow through so you can apply the training at home. Training works best when the household is consistent with structure, routine, and clear communication.

Q: Can my dog be trained while I am at work or away during the day?

A: Yes. That is exactly what our Day Camp program is built for. Your dog trains with us during the day through structured work, routine, and repetition, then goes home with you. At pick up, we coach you on how to apply what your dog is learning so it carries over into your home, your walks, and your daily life.

Q: Do you offer support after training?

A: Yes. Graduates have options to continue reinforcement and real world practice so skills stay sharp over time.
